Here you'll find a few words about us and on approaching Buddhism. We've also gathered together on this page all our events and courses suitable for newcomers looking to explore Buddhist teachings, meditation or spiritual community.
Buddhist practice can change your life and your world. Becoming part of a community of individuals looking to develop themselves, as well as find peace and connection, is a beautiful and empowering place to be.
Taking the first steps towards exploring a new spiritual tradition can feel daunting. For many newcomers, it's completely unfamiliar territory.
Perhaps you don't normally consider yourself 'spiritual' at all; perhaps you have previous experience of another tradition or religion and are cautious about approaching Buddhism. At the Bristol Buddhist Centre we invite you to simply join us, hear the Buddha's teachings, and make up your own mind. You do not have to be a Buddhist to come along. Our community is open and friendly, and we will welcome you whatever stage you are at in your exploration of life.
THROUGHOUT THE WEEK
Learn the fundamental practices at our weekly drop-ins or on a 6-week course.
FIRST FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH
Dharma talks, group meditation and socials for 18-35s.
Although the Bristol Buddhist Centre is a separate charity, we are part of the wider Triratna Buddhist Community founded in the UK in 1967 by Sangharakshita (1925–2018).
Everyone is welcome.
