Part 2 of a 4-part series exploring myth, symbol and ritual.
What if a symbol could help us meet life with greater clarity and compassion?
Ritual, images and symbols can bring Buddhist teachings to life, connecting us with qualities we want to cultivate.
In this second event, we’ll explore the vajra - a Buddhist ritual symbol evoking both the diamond and the thunderbolt. Through its imagery of unbreakable strength and illuminating power, we’ll reflect on wisdom that cuts through confusion and compassion that remains steady in the face of difficulty.
Come along for an evening of connection, meditation and meaningful conversation. We’d love to see you there.

At Bristol Young Buddhists we aim to provide a space where you can explore the Dharma and connect with others in a richer, deeper way. A good alternative to the pub on a Friday night!

Our core monthly event usually involves a talk from our team of young Buddhist practitioners. As well as talks, our events can include discussion groups, meditation, ritual, and workshops.
No experience required and no need to book - just turn up and say hello!

We also organise the odd social gathering where we can have more of a chance to get to know each other on an informal basis. These can include board games at the Buddhist Centre, walks, gallery visits, or anything you might like to suggest!

There is no set charge for our BYB events - we invite you to make a donation when you come, by card or cash.
The Bristol Buddhist Centre runs most of its events on a donation basis. This helps maintain a spirit of generosity and gratitude, and ensure the Dharma remains accessible to all.
