The Myth of the Lotus
Part 1 of a 4-part series exploring myth, symbol and ritual.
What if the stories we encounter could illuminate our own lives?
Ritual, images and symbols have the power to speak to something deeper than words alone. They can inspire us, give meaning to our practice, and help us connect with qualities we want to cultivate in our lives.
In this first event, we’ll explore the myth of the lotus, a symbol of transformation, beauty and awakening that rises from the mud to blossom above the water.

Our core monthly event usually involves a talk from our team of young Buddhist practitioners. As well as talks, our events can include discussion groups, meditation, ritual, and workshops.
No experience required and no need to book - just turn up and say hello!

We also organise the odd social gathering where we can have more of a chance to get to know each other on an informal basis. These can include board games at the Buddhist Centre, walks, gallery visits, or anything you might like to suggest!

There is no set charge for our BYB events - we invite you to make a donation when you come, by card or cash.
The Bristol Buddhist Centre runs most of its events on a donation basis. This helps maintain a spirit of generosity and gratitude, and ensure the Dharma remains accessible to all.
