On this evening we will hold a special pūjā to mark the birthday of the founder of the Triratna Buddhist Order and Movement, Sangharakshita.
This tradition started in the Order at the 2003 convention, and in Centres from 2004, and will continue across the Triratna world for 108 years.
Led by Jvālāmālinī, who says:
"Participating in a tradition intended to last beyond my lifetime and shared across Triratna internationally invites me to enlarge my sense of the significance of my life beyond the usual constraints of space and time.
At the same time, we’re here in Bristol, connecting with particular people, and we see the passage of time in the annual log of who was there.
And by marking Bhante Sangharakshita’s birthday in this way, we can get to know him a little better and celebrate the existence of the Triratna Buddhist Community he founded."
There is no set charge for this event - we invite you to make a donation when you come, by card or cash.
The Bristol Buddhist Centre runs most of its events on a donation basis. This helps maintain a spirit of generosity and gratitude, and ensure the Dharma remains accessible to all.
