Mindful Yoga
My name is Claire-Louise and I have been teaching Scaravelli inspired hatha yoga classes in Bristol since 2006.
Claire-LouiseI see yoga as more of an art form than a form of exercise. If we can engage our curiosity whilst moving with the breath, then yoga is like experimenting with the melody, tone, volume and pitch of the body.
In this way our practice can become more like a meditative dance where the breath, body, and mind are interconnected and we more...

Bristol Young Buddhists
We are delighted to have Jayaraja, chair of Alfoxton Retreat Centre, offering this workshop on mindful communication. It will be about sharing communication skills, on how to speak from the heart, with honesty and compassion. How to listen and understand the inner world of another to build connection and trust. He will be drawing from the work of Marshall Rosenberg (NVC), Dan Siegel (Interpersonal Neurobiology), and the Buddha’s teaching on skilful speech. It is also likely to include more...

Sangha Night
‘What is the Sangha?’ The Individual and the Spiritual Community.
‘Going for Refuge’ to the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha is the central act of Buddhist life. While we may feel that we have an idea of who the Buddha was and of the importance of his teaching, by reading books and attending meditation classes, the third ‘jewel’, that of the Sangha, really needs to be experienced for oneself. This should ideally involve active participation in the more...
